Eagler I'm referring to a pre out of the closet song. When guys liked Elton. Well ok I guess some guys still do. LOL! I'm confused. You know what I mean. LOL! You know when he made songs like Honky Cat, Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting, and Crocodile Rock. Manly man stuff. You know.

He was refering to Bennie and the Jets, of course. But I doubt he was actually *refering* to them, per say. They were a high school group in '73, and this song was a complete coincidence.  Elton John  unsuccesfuly sued to get the band to change their name but was unable to. Even so, it's Taupin who writes the lyrics.

Man I used to be such a fan of Elton John... but yah, back in the earlier days. His stuff now (er, for the last 20 years) has been terrible. But man, in '75 when Goodbye Yellow Brick Road came out... though I was only 6 then.... I was completely hooked.

Jimdandy

My older sister had the vinyl - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Used to listen to it all the time '75 -'77 (HS). I like his music and try to accept his lifestyle

Eagler that should be one of Rips "Caption this" photos.

Mine would be "Elton John hearing of Monica being sick comes in to replace her"
I have been reborn a new man!

Notice I never said a better man.
