tree problem
« on: January 31, 2006, 06:57:35 AM »
First i extracted treeash, oak and birch from Te.I changed their texture to no leaves, then put them into texsrc folder. It's ok from the distance (lods) but when i come closer it is the same old tree with leaves.
I also changed grass, but in-game it's still normal.
Any suggestions please?

You need to set your new texture to every LOD level.

You can do this in AC3D or with text editor with Replace function.

Second problem:
When i convert the bmp to 8 bit it doesn't keep the 255,0,255 color but 225,0,225 .The result of that is pink being shown in oe,te,game...
If someone knows how to convert without losing color here is the file. Please help me.

copy the green area and make a pink spot somewhere on the bmp, convert it to 256x256 color then paste the green spot over it.

dont put anything over the green area, when you paste it it should be reduced to the same color.
Another thing you might want to try is wait to put the index color (your pink) in after you convert you 256 color

I am going crazy.Still haven't found a solution.

When changing to 256 colors(8 bit) my 255,0,255 color (pink that makes the stuff invisible in game) changes to 252,2,252.

I just don't see how can i make a dam pink color work!

Please help!

Problem solved. I did something around the index color, messed with the text file with texture and finally pink doesn't show anymore.

Thanks all anyway.
