Advanced training arena
« on: July 22, 2006, 03:37:44 AM »
I would like an advanced training arena as follows.

All players would be flying for one country, no possibility to change country.

The other countrys would be flying ai planes, where in marked areas of the map you could find enemy bomber formations without escort, enemy bombers with escort, single enemy fighters, enemy fighters flying around in pairs / formation, enemy fields lightly defended. The enemy planes of one country would have reduced damage output & bad flying skill, other country full damage out put and medicore flying.

So you could go in there alone for prakticing or group up in there to praktice attaks on escortet bombers or on groups of enemy fighters. Of course all without score / points accounting.

Schutt this is a Dam good idea

Have them fly in different formations and flight patterns

I would like to add the idea of haveing an area where the drones have the show smoke on (or the trails like in the film viewer) and they perform the same mauver over and over so that you can tail them and practice the manuver......

What do you think HT, Pyro

Was it time consuming to setup the the flight paths for the drones offline ?

Would this be somthing that you would consider ?

Will you ever return the sheep to the people ?

I seem to remember somewhere that when CT comes out, that the AI will be ported over to the offline section as well.  So you can practice offline, attacking bombers, attacking fighters, and flying in frendly formations.  This will bring the awsomness.

Hopefully, we will see the level of the n00b raised from flying straight and level, or left hand break turn, as their only tricks. ;)

I would like to see the AI in the MA.  Strictly for bombers tho, and severely limeted to only 8 other bombers including yourself(9 total) like an advanced formation.  Your three as we have now; another three above, behind and to the left of your formation; and another three, behind, below and to the right of yours.

I want that because sometimes we have advanced so close to an enemy HQ that a HQ raid would not be considered a suicide run, but nobody wants to put out the"lights" so to speek.

Good idea Schutt, couldn't agree more. But good luck getting it implemented.

But perhaps you'll be luckier than I was or maybe just more patient.  :)

Would be great, yet expect a long delay, as it will require some more coding!
(And gee would I love to see the noob population stop these "lame" BnZ manouvers not knowing when to shoot or what to do!)

Bogie - only one solution to THAT problem. Talk to them, explain and SHOW them - yourself.

I once did that, but the fact that they constantly keep coming really calls for a distress signal. Some people like to fly sometimes without having a reputation of a "noob trainer".

More Code?

Think its pretty much a part of what is done for combat tour, so it could eaven serve as a combat tour ki testbed.

But you are probably right and if it comes only chances for it is after combat tour.
