Silent Hunter II is finally out

That only took, what...5 years?  ;)

Anyway, I bought it yesterday and installed it today during lunch. Graphics inside the boat look good, but have to spend some more time with it to see how it rates. Anyone else try it out yet?

For those living in a cave....Silent Hunter II is the sequel to Silent Hunter(duh!), a great WW2 US Submarine sim of 1995. The sequel was supposed to be out in 1997, but I guess development ran into a few roadblocks. This time around, the focus is on the German U-boats fighting the battle of the Atlantic.

Destroyer Command will be out in December, and will allow us to play online against owners of Silent Hunter II and sink your silly U-Boats.

That ought to be damn cool.

Yummy. I've been playing around with SubCommand a fair bit lately and enjoy it, but I'm really looking forward to SH2!.

I've read the reviews.  It is a good game.

There are a few letdowns.  The game doesn't have war patrols, just a series of single missions played sequentially that you have to win before advancing to the next mission.

I'm still going to buy it though.
