My joystick is acting funky. When I look at the XYZ numbers in the controls advanced window, they are'nt steady. Then when I goto the runway and zoom in at my rudder, it is moving all by itself. If I roll ailerons it will move the rudder. Then the rudder will center and move again.

I use an MS FFB. Anyone know why the problem is happening? Is it the stick? Should I re-install j/s stuff?

All twistys have this issue to some degree. Some more pronounced than others some degenerate through use and time.

Filth try unplugging USB...Put it back in and re calibrate...always works for me

how long have u used the stick? Filth
there r 3 potential-resistors, each for XYZ, 100K in 99 out of 100, which usually begins to make a malfunction in 3-4 years because of its durability. So the best choice is replacing a new resistor for the outa life one. and second one is using the setting option for recalibration in window control panel. in this latter case, of course u should recalibrate ur stick in AH too.

Any diagrams anywhere to assist in pulling it apart to do this? I have exactly the same problem and it's getting to the uncontrollable stage.

dantoo, sorry i have no such thing. Fortunately pulling the resistor out of MS stick is not difficult one. U need just see carefully inside of it before u pull it out. i rather recommand u'd better cut off the line ***if u got THE SAME SIZE-i meant not the same vaule-new resistor.

and this is very important that MS has completely handed off its joystick business. this is also important that the resistor is somehow old model, which mostly is now outa manufature in ma country, not even easy to find in the area where most kind of resistor r sold in its market. one said to me that it had been current 4 years ago, even if i just wanted 8~10. feeling frustrated, i finally gave up fixing the joystick:o

But if u got some of it i hoping, i recommand u use kina 'glue' to put it link with the 3 lines at each after tie-up instead of soldering, cuz the resistor is weak on HEAT as well as physical shock, especially in a case u has no skill in soldering.

ps-ms jostick, the resistor for throttle has vaule of 10¥Ø, other 3 100¥Ø(ohm)

I put the plane it auto-pilot. I leave the stick alone, the plane jumps out of auto-pilot and performs a yaw induced roll, always to the left... never right.

Please fix this problem! This problem started recently, with the initial server split or before maybe...

I know it was a server side change...

I know at least three people (me, Filth, my brother) with different sticks for this to be hardware related or coincidental.

I have MS FF Pro2 with the same issue (I use XP Pro).

My brother has a logitec stick (he uses Win2k).

WoW!!! 3 out of 5000 people !!! It must be an epidemic!!! it HAS to be server side !!! LOL!!!

Recal your stick in both windows and the game, if it still does it bump up the "deadband" slider a bit. Sticks get sloppy the more you use them. If it is something intermitent, you might have dirty "pots" in side the stick. Remove the covers and blow them out with a can of compressed air.

Nice attitude.

Your response reminds me of the other bug AH had with AMD X2 processors and hardware vertex shading. Hitech ignored the bug report... AMD released a patch that fixed the bug.

The point is the bug real whether you believe it or not.
