Salute all.
OK, I have finally upgraded to WinXP because I really want to add more memory to my computer for my graphic programs. i have run Win98 with 512 forever. However, I know that analog Ch gear can be used successfully from previous posts I have seen here.
In the past, I upgraded to XP but was unable to get my gear to work (Force FX, Pro Throttle, Pro Pedals.) Calibration would never work right, let alone no input from sliding the throttle in the game. I would also suffer from "dont move your controls so rapidly" syndrome even though I was barely touching them. I spent lots of time at CH Hanger trying all the work'arounds I could find to no avail. In frustration I always reverted back to Win98. Well, enough of that!
I have bought a second hard drive. I have reformatted both Harddrives. The C Drive now has a fresh install of XP Pro and the D Drive has a fresh install of Win98. I have downloaded the WinXP drivers from CH for the Force FX and the Pedals (I know the throttle doesnt have an XP driver)..hence the help I need desperately to get my 12 year old gear that still flys like a champ to work correctly in XP. I also realize that I will lose the force feedback from the Force FX but am fine with that.
Can someone that has successfully done this please help me? Im computer literate so it shouldnt be an unpleasant experience for the person rendering the help. Im willing to do this in any medium you want me to..e-mail, phone call, ride to your house on a donkey with a pack mule to pack the computer on. Doesnt matter to me. I am all out of any ideas on how to do this on my own.
Nothing is on the computer yet other than the fresh installs of the OS's. The glass is empty...fill me up baby
