CH PRO PEDALS
« on: May 26, 2000, 05:04:00 AM »
Just got them by the post after 5 months of patience & I cannot wait to get home to fit them !

Now, I know that there have been several issues with that Model in AH, so am asking before it happens : What is the trick, How do I make it work ?

Thank you !

PS: I only have a CH Fighterstick & No  additional Throttle.

The Stick & Rudders are both Analog

Is there any problems with  Pro Pedals ? I think you just have to connect them following instructions, and that's it.

Maybe you've read threads concerning of Pro Throttle. It has some problems, at least with my system. It is not recognized by Windows sometimes, and then I may have to install some drivers all over again, or just shut down/restart to make it work.

I think folks end up with problems in mixing analog rudders with digital sticks.

In Saint's case connect the joystick connector with the connector from the rudder pedals, plug a different connector from the pedals to the gameport/soundcard (where the stick used to be plugged into) go into the Windows control panel 'gamecontroller/joystick' and under one of the settingsin there you should be able to check off a very small box that enables rudders.

Dog, the button might be one oth the ones that are on the stick, maybe ?

OK, They work fine, however I'm having a hard time to get used to them, as I keep pushing them the wrong way ! LOL

Think I am pushing the plane in X direction , while I should think about pulling it in that direction...

lol Saint. Me too. I've had an ingrained habit from various sports that when you push with your right foot, you go left. And vice-versa. I coudl not get used to pushing with the left foot to GO LEFT.
How I fixed this was I opened up my CH Pro Pedals (not for the feint hearted or non-mechaincally inclined) and  on the potentiometer inside (it has three leads with two wires  connecting with push on connectors) I swapped the outside push-on wire lead to the opposite side.  DO NOT touch the middle lead.
A CH tech gave me this 'fix'

p.s. Maddog, it should be your tigger button. If nothing happens whan you press that then you need to program your sticks trigger button to emulate the correct key. I have a Speedkeys file that works. I load my Speedkeys file called 'Calibrate' and I do the calibration routine in Windows. Then when I'm done I reload my stick and throttle with my Aces High Speedkeys and finish with a recalibration in AH. I'll email it if you want.

JOYREGS.ZIP

JOYREGS.ZIP contains some experimental files that allow you to configure a set of rudder pedals, a throttle, or a combination of the two as a second joystick in W95/W98. These can be used in some games that recognize multiple joysticks to allow the use of separate analog throttle and rudder pedals, etc. with USB and other 'digital' joysticks. Also included is a small utility, JoyClick, that lets you simulate a button-click in the Control Panel calibration routines for devices that have no buttons (a lone set of rudder pedals, for instance). To install, create a new directory for the files and unZIP into that. There's a DOC file in the ZIP that tells what it will and won't do, how to set it up, etc. PLEASE read the DOC file before you try to use any of the REG files or the JoyClick utility. This won't work everywhere and may take some tinkering to get things running correctly. If you use the files, be sure to copy the JOYCLICK.VXD file (in the ZIP) to your \Windows\System directory.
