New Capture Methodology
« on: December 07, 2006, 05:46:13 PM »
Greetings,

Can we expect a new terrain editor which will allow us to play with the concept?

Regards,

What else are you gonna have than 10 troops "running" into a map room and blowing it up?

Denholm,
he probably refers to the new restricted base capture order.

I think HT (or someone else from HTC) mentioned in some thread that the next TE will include a feature to edit/create the capture paths. They will not be built into the terrain though, but included as a separate file to the hosting server... IIRC.

When the new TE will come out?... no idea.

Check out the "balance.txt" file in your htc folder.
Easy in-game again.

I don't pick up information as quickly as others, if you don't mind elaborating on what you just mentioned, I might just determine what this new feature is supposed to provide for us terrain editors.

Don't take this wrong, but this is where not having a subscription hurts you. Information is fairly slow to trickle out to the free community.

The new capture system allows the terrain author to determine the order in which bases can be captured. The bases available for capture have a larger icon to make it obvious what can and can't be captured. This system promotes team play by setting objectives in the game.

I don't know if this feature will be available in H2H play or not.

Thanks for explaining. Yes, I have not heard of this, and I can imagine why information doesnt transfer about the TE as quickly through the freeloader community. Thanks again for the explanation
