Weather!

I think you are right! The weather is a very important part of this sim!
Bomber runs and cloud cover was always a factor.
Understanding that your mission might be a sucess or failure could depend on the weather.
I understand the frame rates but like I said above, there is a point when you will have to upgrade.

What  ever happened to wind?  Wasn't it modeled in at one point?  It seems to have disappeared.  So did the storm fronts that once moved across the maps (really just banks of dark clouds).  Here's another idea:  Cumulous cloud turbulance.  Imagine trying to hit someone bouncing through the cloud (although it may make for a great defensive strategy).

I think wind would be the best addition to the game :)

i have thought that it would be cool to throw the weather in the game for quite a while
i just think that it would be cool to get hit by lightning and your plane goes crazy
Since tour 75

rain might.

would heavy fog or dense cloud cover?

i have always thought that it would be more realistic if bombing missions would have to be scrubbed due to weather over target.  (of course, we could have rudimentary weather reports)

nighttime appearing every few days in one of the arenas.

bland toast right now.

the ground tiles are wayyyyyy better, but the atmosphere is still pretty stark.

Back on one of the big maps (never remember the names), there was always a lot of cloud cover over one of the VB's in one of those VB chains making it almost impossible to see it from over the cloud cover until the very last second.  I missed that one more often than not as I couldn't correct in time for the hit.  We need a little more of that.  Those dark cloud fronts I mentioned earlier in this thread also caused similar problems.  You had to come in under them to see the target.

imagine flying one of those HUGE mission sorties, u know the ones were FR hits 0 to -2, and having a huge T-storm come by and absolutley destroy ur frame rates.

Imagine if you were heading into a fight, and a big dark cloud rolls over, and then suddenly CLASH!  Thunder, lightning, and rain, were surrounding you, and it's nearly impossible to see.  That would be nice.

OR maybe high winds, interfering with your plane.

Maybe hurricanes...  Tornados

Maybe it's winter time... there could be frost on your wingtips, and snow no runways... etc. etc.

I'm just asking, because
something like this would be really neat!  :aok

Rain - Yes
Snow - Yes
Changing winds - YES (been wanting this for a while! wind in AH currently blows... especially in H2H where it is never used)
Lightning - Yes
Changing clouds - y not
Hurricanes/Tornadoes - NO, will NEVER happen either
would be great to see some windshield wipers modeled too
