 I have learned the hard way, the old saw, If it aint broke dont fix it. So, I still use direct x 6. What is the advantage of upgradeing to directx 7a. If any.

Quite a few actually.  I got at least 4 fps better performance and slightly smoother graphics.  The best thing though is that it fixed some stick spiking problems I was having too.

I'd say if you are happy with the way your system is working, then don't bother upgrading.  If you end up having a problem in the future then try Dx 7a.  (I have to say 7a is the least buggy version of Direct X I've ever used though... )
