Mazda B4000 compatible CD/AM/FM reciever
« on: February 13, 2007, 05:37:42 PM »
Ok, being picky... yet again..

I would like,

A CD/AM/FM receiver for my Mazda B4000, I belive it's a two din, but I'm not sure how to tell..

Looking for one that either has variable colors to the buttons/background.

Or a green/orange, orange, green lit reciever.

Gotta go with the interior, blue would throw EVERYTHING off.

$60.00-$100.00 range.

eBay is of use too.

Your radio hole can indeed have a double din unit stuffed into it.  There aren't a lot of double DIN stereos available 3rd party, but on eBay you might be able to find a factory unit for cheap that meets your bill and price range.

Actually...  I take that back, I guess there are more double DIN 3rd party decks out there than I thought.  Here's one I found after searching for "double din stereo" that's a two CD + Cassette + MP3 one for $75+25 shipping:

What an age we live in!

But getting a factory stereo for cheap that came out of a car that was upgraded might not be a bad option either, and potentially cheaper.

Check Car Toys or Best Buy, if you can't find something there I'm sure you have some sort of car radio emporium near you that can help.

Best place EVER to buy car audio equipment.  For my truck they sent me the deck I paid for, a free wiring harness, instructions, and a troubleshooting hotline.

DIN size is about 2" tall.  You'll find that most stereo decks come in single DIN size.  Chrysler and GM make a DIN and a half size, about 3" tall.  The only Double DIN sizes Ive seen were in Japanese vehicles, and those are about 4" tall.

You can get any size stereo to fit if you have a Double DIN size (more than likely in a Mazda).  All you need to do is purchase a mounting kit that will make a DIN or DIN 1/2 size fit in your double DIN hole.

Again, if you go to Crutchfield you can tell them what kind of vehicle you have, year, etc and they will tell you what fits or if you can get a mounting kit to get something else to fit.

Concur with this statement. Crutchfield rocks. All you have to do is put in the make and model of your truck or car and they will give you a list of everything they have that will fit. I've purchased 3 radios from them and all worked like a champ.
