Having to convert between metric and imperial would make for at least some complications, some of the time, that would effectively be more unrealistic than sitting in your cockpit, thinking how un-authentic the imperial system pixels looked.. it's the same as engine management.
It would bloat the amount of time used in dealing with measurements by an unrealistic amount.
OTOH, in Combat Tour, I'd agree.

Who actually relies on the numbers anyway?

 When I fly and fight, the only real numbers I remember are;

1) my plane's top speed at deck
2) my plane's top speed at alt
3) at which alt my plane starts to suck
4) at which speed I can start using my flaps

The above four figures are memorized. All the rest of the actual fight is done by looking at the enemy plane, assuming the relative E/alt states by the way he behaves. The only time I would actually look at the speedmeter is when I'm going low and slow, and the only time I would look at the altimeter is when I'm about to crash.

I don't think it'd be any different for rest of the people either.

Imperial or metric, is just semantics. It's not something that matters during combat.

Actually, I always use 28.2g per ounce, and the weight is calculated AS PACKAGED with the seeds and stems.   You should know better than to buy the last bag that has all the seeds and stems. :D    If you don't want credit for the added weight, hold out for another seller.  There are plenty.   Then go back and beat the @#%% outta the guy that tried to short you with the crappy bag.

:rofl

As you know we used metric in the Netherlands, but after playing AH for so long I kinda forgotten how to use it :D

If someone says an aircraft does 200km/h I think..huh? :huh takes me awhile to figure out how much mph it is and I think:  aaah okay :aok

But OK for metric system, would be nice in our Russian and German aircraft (Italian and Japanese too?)

If HTC wishes to expand into the European market, they'll need METRIC in the proper aircraft.

Perhaps have it as an option for the E6 computer?

Not going to happen gents. And it is not a point of realism or preferences.

The problem is when fly planes in both English and metric. It instantly adds more work load to flying a metric plane if your primary rides English or visa versa.

2nd Communication becomes a major pain when different units are used with different airplanes.

3rd I have done both metric and English in a previous life, hated it so much it is not going to happen.

I never had any problems flying the English system, like I said, I got adapted to it rather quickly.
Doubt there would be more Europeans flying after a metric system is introduced!

uh, well why not tell us how to change the cockpit skins then so we could do the metric instruments ourselves if you guys are so stubborn ???
