Choose multiheaded display
« on: April 12, 2007, 09:35:49 PM »
I use a smaller display for my primary screen than for my secondary screen. I Launch media player (DVD playback) etc into the larger display. Can I get AH to use the secondary display instead of the primary one? Reconfiguring the entire desktop is a pain.

Perhaps switching the primary monitor into secondary mode while the game is running? I have no idea, double screens and beyond is something I don't touch.

By default, DirectX always uses the primary display monitor.  The video card driver could effect this behavior.  However, I do not know if swapping the primary and secondary displays is an option in the video card control panel, and if it will only do it for DirectX/OpenGL based applications.

Thanks for your replies.

Exactly how to change monitor layout and designation varies with several variables. Currently I use Windows multihead support which gives better flexibility I feel, allowing maximizing within one window (rather than expanding across the lot). However, switching to single head mode and other solutions to my problem seems to be more difficult with this solution.

Perhaps just switch the monitor with the one where you want the data to be displayed and making the monitor you just switched out show your desktop?

Yes, the real problem I have is that a couple of different requirements are conflicting with each other.
