Historically Inaccurate T-34 (F-34 Tank Gun)?
« on: April 22, 2007, 10:37:55 AM »
This is something that is probably going to make HTC real busy but I decided to do some research about the F-34 tank gun to see if it really does have HVAP ammunition.

Nope

I went over plenty of sources and found nothing about HVAP rounds being used in the F-34. (And I made sure I was looking at the correct data)
Not only that, plenty of the vehicles in AHII do not have the historically accurate rounds that were actually used in WWII.

Just suggesting a complete makeover of the shells in the vehicles that are being used in AHII

EDIT: PLEASE NOTE THAT THE T-34 HAS A 76.2mm F-34 L/41.5 TANK GUN SO PLEASE DO NOT GET THOSE TWO CONFUSED

Ack-Ack have you read if HT ever responded to if HEAT rounds are modeled in the game?  Like in the PB1 rockets on the 190F8.

Probably just stating what everyone already knows, but that is your HVAP right there -- just another designation for it.

It turns out that is correct. But I found additional information that it should be designated APCR because the HVAP designation is what the U.S. calls it, not the Soviets. Thanks for clearing that up E25.

:O :o  How hypocritical and ironic of myself! I forgot to do my research on the ammunition types before writing this thread!

P.S.: Does everyone actually know that the HVAP round is another designation of the APCR round? Im pretty sure a modern tanker does, but not me(That's a first)

It's amazing what 3 minutes of research on the Intardnet can do.
