That's a great example of what some in AH would call 'timid flying', or 'cherry picking', or some other derogatory, but to me it's an example of consummate skill, patience, and knowing exactly when to take a shot and when to get out. Flying like that and surviving is a much greater thrill than simply wading in, getting maybe two or three, and then getting chopped to pieces by the remaining horde.

And doing it with one flap gone, and the other stuck down, for half the sortie is a testament to your 38 skills. Brilliant job.

Nice flying and all that, but one has to wonder if you were part of a mission and had a specific target that you needed to hit, or were assigned the task of wingman would you have faired as well?  I noticed in all this film that we are always seeing the lone wolf and their great feats,  I don't think I have ever seen a film, either training or otherwise, that showed a true flight element.  either a pair or two elements of two, working as a unit.  Any one have any such films?

I did...I may have some in AH1 format.  I periodicly clean out the films folder, I didnt know there was an intrest.  I have faired well in scenerios, both completing the objective, and surviving to rtb.  The same could probably be said for any good stick who also does good alone.  Now winging is a different matter, in that there aren't many that actually know how to do their part in both communications and tactics for an extended period of time.  When the right people manage to get paired up, it can be very fun.  (Maybe Silat has some of our old winging films).

Hi Brick, -->Here<-- are a few disjointed, and mispelled thoughts regarding winging I posted several years ago.  And -->Here<-- is one of the articals I refered to.  I dont get to fly as much lately, but Im usually open to winging.

Bump for the person who asked about these kind of film examples....Also might be useful to latrobe's question.
