And I guess the USA has no experience in flying from frozen ground like,,Greenland, as well as passing into the cold skies....
American planes don't make enough noise to make GreenPeace worry about poor scared seals.
BTW first time USSR landed heavy bombers at the North Pole in 1937, to set up a first drifting station SP-1.
In early 90s Russians set up an airfield at the North Pole for "extreme skydiving". In late-90s we even had nuclear icebreakers carrying rich tourists to the N Pole, so now I am glad we switch to the things that are more fun
