Tweaking my vid card.....
« on: September 17, 2007, 01:02:23 PM »
This is probably due to incorrect settings on my part, but me lacking knowledge of all things tech things, I think I must ask for help.

This is from HTC's website, displaying the visual differences between 512 and 1024 textures.

512: 1024:

However this is what I see on my end when I up the texture from 512 to 1024. Note, I am not using the high res tex pack. Was just testing when I discovered this.
512: 1024:

Also,
512:

1024:

Note the surprisingly large difference in quality between 512 n 1024, as opposed to the negligible gain in quality on HTC's pics?
Am I not setting up my vid-card correctly and getting the most out of it?

Would like some help with this. Thanks in advance!:aok

I believe that you have to have the hi res texture pack installed in order to see any improvement jumping from 512 to 1024. Otherwise it's pointless.

Thats my point exactly my point. I AM seeing a vast improvement in jmpng from 512 to 1024 without the hi-res pack? Or are skins shipped as hi-res anyway?
