framerate issue since 2.11
« on: August 23, 2007, 07:28:29 PM »
when I run the game I get 60FPS almost always, sometimes mid 50s if im over a big base with lots of smoke and ack firing..

today after installing the patch I was playing around A23 in the orange arena and out of nowhere the game started to jerk ALOT.. checked FR and it was showing from 8 to down to 0 at which point the game would freeze for as long as 2 seconds.. then come back..

then the frame rate went back up to 60 for a little while.. then again suddenly down to 25.. then 0-5 again..

didn't notice anything that seemed to be triggering it, and its never done it THIS BAD before...

though in the previous version(s) sometimes around forests the game would jitter.. the FR would stay high but there would be jitter, this seems unrelated.

I checked background process, only other app running is TrackIR (asude from usual system processes.

UPDATE:

i was able to recreate this finally..

I got all the ack firing offline, and everything was working fine..

upped in a B-25.. still ok..  hit F3 for an outside view.. frame rate went in the toilet..  went to 0 would hang for a sec or 2, then go to 6-8...  then back to 0.. go back in the plane.. 60fps... get out away from the ack and check outside.. 60fps..

if i get the 25 out away from the ack, and look at it in externanl view.... it doesent do it..
