The Chase Was On
« on: August 27, 2007, 03:35:12 PM »
hey guys n gals,
well......last night i was flying in MW, and was asked for help defending A5. i couldn't up a fighter from there, as all FH's were down, so i upped JU88's from i think 11 to go sink the cv that the enemy was using. during my climb out, the base was captured, and i didn't wanna waste a bomber run, so i decided to still sink the cv. this i did, then looked back and there was a P38 climbing to me...no big deal i thought. wrong........by the time i cleared that sector, there were 5 P38's chasin me now...1 was higher, and he had me more worried than the others. the one i spotted first was kind of porposing..he'd climb, level out, then dive, then climb.....he closed into gun range pretty quickly like this. i think he's one of the ones i got, but i'm not sure, although i know he got 1 of my drones. all in all, they chased me for about 3 sectors, and i mentioned this on 200 channel......not as a wise arsss comment, but just as an observation. i think some of them may have taken me as trying to taunt them. this is not true. i actually kinda admired their patience in the chase, although i woulda preferred they chase someone else:D .

anyway, this is to those 5 P38 drivers.........WTG on your patience in the chase, and killin a couple of my bombers!!<>:aok
and......i meant no offense, so if any was taken, i do apologize to each of you! you guys made that a very fun flight, regardless of the outcome. i fly this for fun, and very rarely get mad at anyone...even for ramming or ho'ing.........

Im strictly a Buff stick and if its one thing I admire in an enemy fighter pilot is "patience". It is impatience that gets them in trouble against bomber guns. On the other hand there are runs like todays. I took up 3 Lancs, ran them against a refinery, and then had to re target to a city because the refinery was already hit. On the way a P-51 jumped me and I turned the Lancs into the sun and just waited him out.

He waited to long. His initial runs were good he knew the Lanc is weak on tail ammo. But I had to call for help, and someone eventually came "thank you" at which time the P-51 stick went for the kill and hung up in my 6 where I smoked him. He ran into my drone "he actually got a kill out of it", and I went on almost out of tail ammo.

I went on, bombed 2 targets, had another bogey run into my other drone, got my rudder shot off, the wing peppered, and I flew the big Lanc home on a wing and a prayer, only to run into another enemy, at which time I dove for the floor so I could use my top gun. Luckily another friendly helped me and escorted my cripped Lanc into a runway where I somehow got it down. 3.39 points for the most hair-raising flight I ever had.

Thats what I love about this game. Everyday you play you have that one "flight to remember". Thank you to the fighters who helped me.
