LOL That`s what I thought also Mom. That is until we made a trip to S. Dakota last year , in the winter, to visit one of my daughters and grandkids.
I am a regular at Sturgis and love S. Dakota during that time of the year.
So anywho.............off we go. Myself, my wife and "Gus", the minature Daschund that we got custody of during another one of my daughter`s divorce.
We arrived on Thursday. By Friday the forecast had a
chance of snow during the weekend and a cold spell coming through. My daughter said not to worry about it, that they always get it wrong. Exact words from a transplanted Texan " We ain`t gonna get no snow".
By Saturday afternoon it was a pleasant -17 degrees with snow piled up like cordwood around their house. Snow through S.D. , Nebraska, norhtern Kansas and ice in Oklahoma all the way down to the Big T. DOH!
About the only thing good I can say about it is that I got to put the SUPER test on a new line of motorcycle jackets that I had just got in for resale. Worked great. The rest of me was frozen.
We were pretty well snowed/iced in all the way down until Tuesday , at which time we made our
escape. "Gus" had refused, or been unable to....ummmmm let mother nature take it`s course for a while due to his low structure. His belly drug in the snow and various parts seemed to be "iced up" so to speak.
I finaly found a small patch of grass in northern Oklahoma that was not covered in ice.
Have you ever seen a dog smile?
