Handy chart - War vs. Terrorism
« on: October 23, 2007, 08:48:02 AM »
I've seen a bunch of folks throwing the word terrorism around in a way that seems to suggest they don't understand what it means.  This is really common in some of the lefter weblogs and protests, for instance ("America is the REAL terrorist!" would be a common picket, for instance).

Here's a useful graph for centralizing terms:

Terror bombing, Carnage, kill 10 when one die by resistance movement... etc.. My dad and grandfarther used to call Japanese Military (of WW2) as "Terrorists", while Japanese military called freedom fighters as "terrorists"....  What Japanese occupying force did in 20s, 30s to  WW2 was something far more than "Suppression". Cutting head off with a katana in the town square,  ... (oh, arm first, then the head it went) ... shooting civilians as a revenge... putting Terror and Anger into the heart of occupied Chinese and Korean people...  I won't hesitate to say that miliatary can do terrors. For me, terrorists are who do terrors and who believes terrorism :  A belief that they can get what they want by putting terrors into the heart of their "enemy". They don't usually succeed. I would like to say "never", but I don't know.

personal attack, but considering the source, it's to be expected.

So if Hamas blows up Israeli soldiers, they're guerillas, is that right?
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

They may or may not be.   depends on how and where they do it.   I would say that if they send rockets to hit apartment buildings that would be a clue.
