kindle - anyone buy one?

I've read hundreds of books on my pocket pcs but would like to have something a bit larger. They say this new ebook reader isn't backlit. That's the very reason I've read so many on my handhelds, they need no external light which keeps my wife awake. Anyone have one of these?
Here we put salt on Margaritas, not sidewalks.

The DRM seems both intrusive and vulnerable to exploitation, so no.  I'm not going to buy something that restricts when and how I can read stuff I purchased, and then get treated like a criminal because their stupid DRM got cracked by someone else.

I think the DRM will get cracked within a month, the revenue model will collapse, and the device will get abandoned like various other DRM-laden services that have folded recently.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.
