You can hear everyone's guns but your own. Now that we can hear our own engine, how about fixing it so the recorder picks up your own guns, instead of just the sounds of other players? It'd be a nice aesthetic touch.

Also, is it possible to have the film viewer show control surface deflection? We can see the position of flaps, landing gear and arrestor hook (I think) however the recorder doesn't pick up deflection of elevators, rudder or ailerons. This would be invaluable as a training tool, as it would be easier to explain how maneuvers are performed when someone watching the film can see what the flight controls are doing. This would ESPECIALLY be useful during maneuvers that coordinate rudder and aileron.

As it is, you can set the camera to "free" on a fixed point, however the only way I've found to have the camera actually track a specific plane is to put it in follow/chase/etc. Both for film-making and for training purposes, I think it'd be useful to be able to position the camera on ONE aircraft, but allow it to automatically "track" another (for example, from external view it would make seeing what one aircraft was doing in relation to yours easier). This could be set to work from both internal an external views.

Lastly, excluding Track IR which as I understand has problems, the film viewer remembers when you change views to look around the cockpit. However it does NOT retain your head position. It would be useful to have the film viewer remember where you've set your head position for that aircraft in the game, so as you look around in the editor you don't have your view blocked because it uses default, rather than adjusted, head positions (again, besides aesthetic value, it once again would be useful for training purposes).
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.
