Actually, having flown against both of them, I'd say Oldman was saying good things about Storch on his flying.

Was it a A-5, A-8, Dora or a F-8? The difference is huge. The A-5 can turnfight fairly well the only drawbacks being somewhat weak guns and lack of hp.

The FW190A5 guns are no where near weak, try flying it against most other planes La5, La7, SpitfireV, VIII, IX, XIV, XVI most 109 variants......it packs alot better loadout.........

few planes come close o it regarding planes equipped with Cannons or a mix of machine gun and cannon planes......and those that do either beat it by leaps and bounds or are very marginal......

it is on par with most all other FW series planes, except maybe for the D9 model in the speed and Acceleration rnage....

notable planes that have  equivilent or better guns would be F4U1C, Niki, Typhoon, Tempest, Bf110G2,  P47 Variants......

as far as speed goes, it is near top of class in regards to Midwar  plane types.........and isn't no slouch when compared to some LAte War plane matchups

vortex I turnfight in all of them.  in fact I've been known to turnfight even in a goon.

The FW190 series is what I fly, almost exclusively. Yes the A-5 guns are weak compared to the other 190 variants, was not talking of other planes. I find the A-5 require a good spray of hits perhaps double # of hits, compared to the D-9 in order to down a plane. That is from ingame experience not historical data. Something I find a bit odd, but the MG/FF rounds were less effective historically speaking so it's not entirely out of place.

comparing all FW series the FW190A5 is either at top or at worst 2nd best

I'm not really arguing with you, it's just that the way I fly making use of a lot of high-deflection shots the A-5 takes more work to down a fighter and especially a bomber compared to the other 190s. The #1 in lethality should be the A-8, who's #2 can be discussed since the A-5 is sporting a earlier gun package with the MG/FF which is weaker. Firing time is irrellevant, those 7.92 mm rds only tickle at worst.

only 2 of the A5 cannons are MG/FF the other two are MG/151s. the only difference in the cannon package of the D-9 and the A-5 is that the A5 has two extra cannons (MG/FFs). so, i'm not really understanding your logic of how a D9 is more lethal than an A5

Hey, it's not scientifically researched I'm only speaking from ingame experience. The A-5's guns just seem weaker.

Oh, and while I'm at it... when will the tailwheel bug on the 190s get fixed?
