Spitfire Mk.Vb 'Princess Beatrix'
« on: December 19, 2007, 12:24:17 PM »
Spitfire Mk.Vb 'Princess Beatrix' was as far as i know a plane from 322 squadron (Dutch). Im led to believe it was a gift from the Dutch royal family?, and was flown by Flt Lt Plesman.

I also remember a jetplane from KLM having his names on it.

Unit: 322 Sqn (Netherlands), RAF
Serial: VL-P (BM515)

Seems the Dutch guys also flew for the Brittish in WW2!

These are the only pictures i could find from it though. I really hope someone can help me out with pictures/arts from the right side.

EDIT: Also im not quite sure if its a V or a IX.

Thanks in advance.

Spitfire Vb

I'd be a little wary of that profile as it has a late 1942 to end of war fuselage roundel but a early 42 back to 1940 fin flash and underwing roundel.
