I do remember seeing this as old topic but since I do not know if it was taken care of, and returned back or was just an forgotten one that never was fixed.
Earlier today I was in pretty decent fight and only had two kills. Trotter came down on me, shot me up pretty good. My oil was hit but still fought until it finally gave out. I was on third hit off the bail button when he hit my pilot in the noogin and towered me; It said that 'trotter as shot you down' and 'rogentx has landed two victories''. I didn't think about taking SS as I should have though, but hopefully this bug will be fixed.
