K, Think of a pilot beening stranded in the middle of nowhere. and its axis vs allies, a race to fun the pilot first and evacuate him out of the area. 47's take the pilot or Jeep, with 51 escorts! Everybody is being hunted at the same time! waddya think

Think Midway, or any pacific scenario.  Get points for rescuing downed airmen!!

I remember we did this is in a Isralie war or some kind of it, the setup was the middle east. It was 262s vs 262s w/ 234s as bombers and had P51Ds as attack planes or thats how I remember it. It was a couple years ago, but it had search and rescue.. pilots that where rescue'd could reup in a new plane.  :rock I liked it a lot it was a lot of fun. We had D3A's as the rescue plane fyi ... IM pretty sure it was D3A's  :huh

I thought we had pilot rescue in one of the earlier scenarios, maybe 18 months to 2 years ago (potentially bob06).  The problem is the man power to verify the pickup/rescue.  It takes a few CMs to be zipping around the map to observe and note the rescue.  If HTC ever implemented a pilot rescue system that was automated.  IE landing near the downed pilot, doing some sort of .join or .rescue and then taking off and landing again.  Then it would be more feasible in the events.  While not ruling it out, it does take extra work on the part of the CMs hosting an event to do search and rescue capabilities within an event, be it scenario, fso, or snapshots.

We had the rescue rangers in a scenario, it was a hoot :)  It think it was BoB06.

IIRC I remember driving a PT boat around for a hour just to rescue Warspawn I think it was. Although it was fun and interesting, I agree with forHIM, as is now it takes up a whole lot of man power and would be much easier to do if there was automated system.

Yes it took a while, the whole point of the rescue rangers was to keep the guys Busy and Active while the death time limit got them back in the game.  Everything usually has a reason :)  Notice in other events, where it wasn't practical, it wasn't done?

It was in BoB6 because I got rescued by APDrone and it was a blast vectoring him in.  It held my intrest till the next round came up. If it had not been for search and rescue missions, I ,along with a bunch of other players, would have gone back to the MA :aok

We did the Rescue in bolth previous "BoB's" , and it has worked out great for keeping everyone busy thruout the scenario . and yes it takes a couple of extra cm's to pull off but its not that bad .. Its kinda fun watching a bunch of pt's running around like headless chickens  :devil
