Issue with the Z axis offset
« on: April 11, 2008, 12:17:50 PM »
I've been struggling with getting proper spacing for larger formations. So I did a series of tests with the flight offsets. The X and Y axis are working properly however there's an issue with the Z axis.

In this test the offset for flight 2 was X=0, Y=0, and Z= -100. So AI2 should be 100 feet behind AI1.
If you look at the first screen shot you'll see the white X that marks where the planes "should be", note that the second X is behind the first. I can send you the file, but the second was not closing on the first they were stable on the takeoff segment.

In the next image, as soon as AI2 enters the next segment, cruise in this case, the second X disappears. It's not an illusion of perspective the two planes will catchup to the single white X and fly on top of each other. This happens on attack, climb, cruise, orddrop, and patrol segments. I hope this helps isolate the issue.

Thanks for all your hard work(and sorry to keep adding to it)!
