I read the book ATTACK OF THE AIRACOBRAS, by Loza.  It describes how the Soviets used the Airacobra.  Contrary to the common misconsception that they used it as ground attack because it wasn't a good air-to-air fighter but had a big cannon, they actually liked it very much as an air-to-air fighter and used it mostly in that role. Their #2 ace flew P-39's for the vast majority of his kills.

We don't have terrain for eastern front yet, but at some point (because of that book), I'd like to work on a scenario design in that genre using P-39's (among other aircraft, of course).

Brooke, next time we are up together lets talk about this..

The names of the innocent and the guilty have not been changed.
As for the innocent, everyone needs to know they are innocent –
As for the guilty… they can suck it.

Would P-39s have been present at Karelia?

I believe so -- but I don't know in what proportion.

Just checked quickly the brief fight history of LLv34. Airacobras were mentioned fairly often during June and July of 1944.
