VMF-251 is still looking for pilots.
We fly for the Rooks, primarily in the LW Arenas and are also active in FSO (Friday, 11pm EST). Our main squad night is Saturdays at 9pm EST, with training at 9pm EST on Wednesdays. We've also begun additional training in cooperative tactics on Saturday afternoons, however for those unable to make this the goal is for those who can to pass this information along.
Our focus is on teamwork and cooperation. We primarily fly the F4U-1A Corsair, but also fly other aircraft as circumstances/need or whimsy dictate. Common alternate rides are any of the other Hogs (1 Birdcage and 4 for air-to-air, C/D and occasionally 4 for ground attack) and the B-25H. We're primarily an air-to-air squadron but also fly ground attack/CAS, and have in the past run high-altitude level bombing missions. Common mission profiles are fighter sweeps, escort and closer-air support/ground assault in support of base defense or capture, including denial of enemy resources in base defense (troops, ordinance, etc) and some nights we just feel like furballing.
So if you're a Hog fan looking for a squad and are looking for a group that puts cooperation at the top of its goals, the Bucs want you!
