Can't we 'feel' the G-force?

Just a suggestion.

I haven't flown a plane so far and I can only infer from other people's saying
, what driving a fighter feels like.
What I'd like to say here is about 'feeling G', such as tunnel view effect.

I heard that, even in total blackout, we can tell how many Gs we are pulling
with our body, before we get totally passed out. We now have G-indicator as an
instrument and tunnel view as a reference to the G we are feeling.
But I think we can add another G-indicator which is independent of the view condition,
so that we can 'feel' the G even in total blackout.
Actually I'm not sure what these thinkings will sound like to other people,
but I think it's worth considering, IMHO.

Following are some screenshots that I edited to show just one of the examples for
that G-indicator.

A new G-meter will show up in the black area.

It can rotate as the direction of the G-force changes (does it occur?)
And that indicator will also fade out as we enter into the total unconsciousness.

Finally, I think we can apply this idea to the way of 'feeling' the (level) acceleration
and deceleration.

Please tell me if I'm wrong or out of sense.
(and sorry for my poor English.)

Actually this is a pretty good suggestion after I thought about it for a second. Its true that in a blackout or tunnel view situation you still have that "feel" of which way the pressure is, and its relative magnitude.

This one is worth trying. Nice idea.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

<---Stupid here got into a situation today.  Was a total blackout and man, did it last!!

I was begining to wonder what was happening as it seemed forever!!  I came out of it and thought, with a totally blank screen I have no idea of what was happening, only sound was my que.  Needless to say sound isn't the answer.  This idea is nothing short of excellent!!  If this were in place I would have had a "feel" for what the plane was doing!!  How do you translate the forces of nature on the pilots body in a purely visual arena??  This idea seems to be an answer.

Congrats on the use of the old grey matter,

 hehee!!

The only thing I might add is the meter needs to fade out, too (a bit after the screen blacks). Wouldn't want anyone flying through blackouts by reading the meter...

I dinnae think that would be a problem kieren.  The way Newbie1 showed it in his shots would only let you know which way your pulling the bird around (opposite of the way the arrow points), but dinnae give you a reference to the horizon.

I for one would like to see something tried, not sure if it is a change in the program but on a few occasions since ver1.01 I have had 10-15sec blackouts (with no throttle or stick inputs going) where before I never saw it go totaly black except in a full panic pull back

Well i don't know if this is really necessary ..

a.) just by feel where the G is pointed you can't straighetn up your aircraft (and if you're sitting in an aircraft and pull 6 G they always feel like pulling DOWN)

b.) Total Blackout where you loose all vision is just briefly before G-LOC (G induced loss of conciousnes [spelling?])
Nobody's Heart is able to keep blood pressure up when doing a 5+ G pull for a prolonged period (prolonged is a matter of seconds here).

IMHO the effect of tunnle vision should start in a bit earlier with slower fade to black and also clear slower. But this is purely what my experience with G from doing aerobatics.
