Ever had one of those days?
« on: January 22, 2001, 09:41:00 PM »
I did...

1) bounced a n1ki, completely oblivious to me, missed him completely. Killed shortly afterward by one of those n1ki zooms
2) HO'd by a zeke (in my tiffie), Zeke wins (no damage to zeke)
3) Some bastige set my fuel to 25% (in a tiffie?), engine dies just short of A1 (enemy base).
4) Became directionally-challenged RTBing from A4/A5 area. Upon arriving at what I thought was A11 (actually A5) couldn't figure out why so many rooks were over our base. WEP'd my tiffie in under those vulchin bastards. Couldn't figure out why my own Ack was shooting at me. Eventually figured out where I was - escaped the hordes of rooks minus 1 elevator, 1 flap, 1 ron, 1 fuel tank, and 1 gear.
5)Find a low and slow JU88, decide to avoid the top guns. Get totally annihilated by the single bottom gun (shot my wing off in a 1 second burst).

Decided it was time to log

ROFL!!!...I don't EVEN want to count how many 'Half Wings I RTB'd with tonight, landed, then ground looped at about 30mph and died!'

Sort of like Hang said, I thought what you described was a typical night in AH. You didn't happen to fly a FW-190 near the south of England in a previous life by any chance did you?

I had a string of bad sorties myself tonight.  In one I was attacking a base in a p47d25 and it ended up Nuttz was defending the base in a c hog.  I got behind him COMPLETELY unnoticed.  After closing to 300 yds I opened fire.  All I hit was air for the next 3 seconds before the c hog broke right and landed.    (99.9% of the time that c hog would have been a ball of fire at that range.)

In the very next sortie I'm in an F6f over the enemy fleet.  I spot a low seafire and dive on him.  I land a few hits, but no visible damage done.  Next I spot a hog and attack him.  I take off 1/2 his right wing, but he happily flies away covered by his ack.  Next thing I know I'm a ball of fire from an 88.  The next sortie was a 4 assist sortie that ended with me getting my engine oil and both elevators shot off.  (Have film of this one.)  Somehow I fly back to base and make a perfect landing, even though I have absolutely no elevator control.  (Just used the throttle and ended up setting the F6f down at 150 mph right on the end of the runway.  That broke me out of my slump and I did OK for the rest of the night.

Was realy terrible for me yesterday, I probably flew 50 sorties, landed 5 where I didn't meet anyone, and all the others ended below submarine levels...

This led me to a bad mood. I then engaged myself in a "Test period", where I was trying to Ram (read merge with the ship, trying to get Rockets into it...) a CV with a NOE flying P38. Unfortunatley, Mitsu was waiting for me... after a whle, I got  p**** o** and dissapeared before being Rude (sorry Mit, I hope you didn't hear me  ).

Tomorrow is a new day, who knows, maybe I'll get to shoot Creamy !

Hehe, last night I had "one of those days".

Ok, I have been on a hot streak with the Jug the last couple of days.  I'm hitting 5-10 kills lately using re-arms in the Jug.  Last night was no exception, and I was mowing them down all night.  My only negative is that I got shot down 4 times.  Problem is, all four times the guy that shot me down was... .ME!  Arrrrrrgh!  Ok, once I screwed up and crashed into the smoking fuselage of a 190 I had reduced to junk, but the other three times I shot myself down.  Yes, in one night THREE TIMES I died when team-mates flew into my bullet stream.

The real piss-off is that, other than my own stupid self, I NEVER TOOK A PING, not one.  I must have gotten 20 kills or more and nobody laid a hand on me.  I could have had a record sortie streak personally.  ARGH!

Hehe, luckily, I had a squad mate on RW with me, so I got to laughing about it.  Oink Roamer!  It was kinda funny... I kept coming over RW and saying "Uh... your not gonna believe this... I shot myself down again."  D'oh!

Yup.  Had a night like that Sunday.  Upped A4 and on climbout was chatting on text buffer and boom.

Vulcan has killed you.

Up again from 4 looking for an opportunistic Tiffy driver sitting at 10K pouncing on planes upping from 4.  Finally find him with (what a surprise) a 5K advantage.  Avoid 1 pass, stupidly try to follow him up only to get roped by idiocy on my part.

Vulcan has killed you.

F*ck it.  Im not going to enter any fites without an advantage tonite.  Im just not in the zone this evening so I up from 1.  On climbout (again my SA was not as it should), my screen goes red in the middle of typing into the text buffer.  WTF??

Vulcan has killed you.

When I finally find him in a disavantagous position (was engaged by a friendly) he dives to the deck and runs home.  I follow for a bit then break off when his buddies start to show up.  Eventually get killed.

Yes, I've had one of those evenings
