A couple more TA 152s
« on: August 02, 2008, 02:53:20 PM »
First up, TA 152 H-1 150168 of Stab/JG301 'Green 9'

This plane was originally to be done by Truekill, but reportedly he has asked that all his skins be withdrawn and did not finish the 49th FG guy's skins nor have any other underwork skins of his shown up.  You will note that this version of Green 9 is not the same as what he posted in the TA 152 thread as an in progress shot, so if he does get un PNGed and starts skinning again there should be no problem.  This version is based upon information Moot posted showing the paint scheme.

Next is a Stab/JG11 TA 152 H-1.  According to Dietmar Harmann's book 150009 was assigned to JG11.

Pull the material file from the 190d9. The default 152 material is porked, makes it look like a white film is over the entire plane.

Anyone doing a TA152, check your material file.  The default TA152 file has definate "white" issues on your skin.  I just reshot mine with the default B-25C file (cammo bird) and it looks alot better.

I'm not a skinner and I feel a little guilty saying this but;

The cowl flaps/panel lines make the cowl flaps look artificial, is there a way to change that? Or is the nose textures stretched too much to do so?

I apologize, I hate to criticize your work.

I think what your looking at are oil stains on the edges of the flaps you will notice that the lines are not consistent. My guess anyway. :aok

Wow I somehow missed this horrible and uncalled for attack upon my skins.  I am crushed beyond words at your baseless and unfounded attack.   :cry :cry
We all know you only see these things from behind and through gun smoke, why can you not let it go.   :(

Ok enough fun.  :aok

Seriously lets look at what we have and let me explain what you are seeing.  The 3D model of the TA152 has a closed cowling.  I believe it would be open somewhat during flight at some stages.  I am attempting to create a 3D effect at the cowling.  See the picture below.  I made the panel lines of the cowl flair a bit as they got near the rear.  Also there is some oil staining there as well.

Thanks for caring enough to post Del.  Cheers!
