I've been thinking... rather than have perked planes either available or not, why not perk the capability of the plane.

For example, if a perk plane costs 70 points, and you have the points to fly it, you get a full up round with 100% capability. But if you don't have the points, you can still fly the plane but it has limited fuel or limited ammunition or absence of WEP or a faulty engine that only gets it up to 80% of it's cruise speed or some other limit.

Whaddaya think?

Tempest with limited fuel/ammo-load/downgraded engine/less manoeuvrable = Typhoon.

Ta-152 blaah blaah blaah = D9

Arado.. hmm.

You already got two out of three  :)

I prefer a "purchase" method for the perk planes.

Lets say, perk plane list:

Tempest (90)
Arado (120)
Ta152 (70)
Fw190D9 (60)
Bf109G10 (50)
P-51D (60)
P-47D (45)
La7 (60)
N1k-J2 (50)
F4U-C (65)
Spit IX (45)

(please note I included non-perk planes because they have "earlier" models in the game already, and *one* of them may evade the perk list if its fixed *grin*)

Any plane except the ones above are freely avaliable. If a player wants to get one of them, he will have to "buy" it with his perkies. The number besides the planes on the list would be the cost of the plane.

When you purchase a plane, it is added to your "Hangar". You can fly that plane till its shot out under you. That means if you land it in friendly territory, it will be re-added to your hangar.

Damage to planes would be kept until its repaired. Repairs would cost perkies as well. Player would have to taxii plane to hangar if he wants on-site repairs or he can click and burn perkies to repair plane if he on tower.

Exotic loadouts (or fantasy loadouts if HT ever introduces them) would also have a perk cost.
