US Navy Aircraft Recognition Slides

Hiya fellow pilots,

I wanted to share some digital photos of a cache of 35mm WW2 aircraft recognition slides a colleague found (they belonged to her dad).
The consensus among the *Specialists* squadron is that we see if the Marietta Air Museum would like them for their future collection.

Wow!  What a find! Short of owning the actual planes, this would be the next best thing.

As for the U.S.S. Squalus, the name at least, if not that very boat, was the subject of "The Desperate Hours," a famous history of submarine rescue.

Fuzeman just pointed out that the USS Skulpin went down with 62 people on board. The USS Squalus was a sister ship. It turns out both of these went down. Interesting how these two slides happened to be in the collection. I scanned it again but couldn't get any faces by increasing the resolution. I'm going to try the Kodak slide projector I have and see if I can get a better image of it.

I didn't know it was the subject of a movie.
