VMF-251 is recruiting Hog fans for its Main Arena and FSO rosters. We have also recently become active in the AvA.
We're a Rook squadron primarily operating in the Late War Main Arenas. Our main squad night is Saturdays at 9pm EST, with a training night on Wednesdays at the same time. Additionally, we are participants in Friday Squad Ops, Fridays at 11pm EST in the Special Events Arena.
The squadron's main ride is the F4U-1A Corsair, however other marks are used as situations warrant, with the F4U-1D as our main strike craft. The F4U-1C is also used, as is the F4U-4. We also frequently enjoy rolling the B-25H for ground attack. However we also fly other aircraft as circumstances or whim calls. We focus on cooperation and coordination, and though we're not professionals at wingmen tactics we do practice it regularly in combat.
The squadron requires you to be a paying subscriber who is out of your 2-week trial membership--preferably located in the US--and that you have a love of the F4U as this is our primary aircraft, as well as an interest in cooperative flight in a wide variety of mission profiles. VMF-251 is as likely to spend time making tactical or strategic strikes against ground targets in support of base defense or capture operations as often as we directly engage in air-to-air dogfighting.
If you have a love of the Bent Wing Bird and are looking for a crew of like-minded individuals more information is available at the squadron website. If you wish to join up, please fill out the Enlistment form under the Communications Menu, and we will contact you to continue the enlistment process.
<S> and see you up there.
