You can get adapter cables from frontx.com that run the PC case inputs into the sound card inputs in the back of your case. 

Some soundcards like SB Audigy don't mute the speakers when a headphone is plugged into the 10 pin connector on the sound card. Another issue is the mic connection on the SB 10 pin connector is 2.5V instead of 5V.  Here is a site with details that shows you how to make an adapter cable.  http://audigy2zshowto.blogspot.com/

To use the front panel connections with any soundcard you can use these parts.
