Power Supply to Video Card Connection

My problem is my video card is an Nvidia AGP with a 4-pin Molex connector for power. My new power supply (Visiontek 450W) only has PCI-Express connectors.  Visiontek offered no cable or help.  I can purchase a PCI-E to Molex cable converter, but it's only a straight 12v. I believe video cards also need a 5v pin. Any help will be appreciated.

You should be able to find a molex splitter at most computer parts or electronics stores.  Take the molex going to another device in your computer and split it.  Its just a simple Y cable.

I have two power supplies in this computer.  All the molex cables in the computer come from the original 250w power supply, that's not enough to power the video card.  The visiontek 450w power supply connects to the 250w supply in tandem.  it's a unique idea, it's ment to power up to 4 video cards at once. http://www.visiontek.com/products/powersupply/VT_powersupply.html

6 pin would plug into visiontek power supply and you have 2 4 pin molex leads.

I've looked at that cable. it's designed to go in the reverse for PCI-E cards.  Not sure if it addresses the problem of a 5v pin.  For a straight 12v I was looking at this cable http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=21141

So your power supply seriously came without any 4pin molex connectors?  How does it power devices like CD-Rom drives, hard drives, etc... does it expect you to have sata everywhere?  If there's at least one 4pin Molex you can just use a Y adapter:  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812201006 .

This power supply he has is an external power supply that slides into the front of the case and is the size of a dvd drive . It is an add on designed for video cards. The connectors are for newer video cards and they do not use 4 pin molex connectors.

Ahh ok I interpreted that post where he described it wrongly.

VisionTek should have something that would work, as it would seem to be a common complaint.  I would think anyways.  You say they don't though.

The main problem is that you have an add-on power supply intended for high end new video cards, but you have a motherboard and video card that is low end or just old.  Doesn't make a lot of sense... I would either lose the add-on and get a half-way decent normal power supply (decent way to go imo, and cheap) to replace the 250w, or upgrade the motherboard/cpu/video/memory to something modern (expensive though).

Low end video cards will dissapear soon and there are aftermarket adapters I guess.
