Fighting Postions for Tanks/Half Traks.

How about a couple of dug in positions near the airfields and vehicle bases?

I figured like a N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W and NW fighting positons,  Just a tad wider than the tank and just deep enough to conceal the body, leaving the turret exposed.

Same thing on the airbases, except off center to the runways.  I would also put some near the hangars and staging area.

This would give the defenders an advantage of being in prepared fighting postions, and make it a tad more difficult for the attackers.

Until someone like me drops a 1000lb bomb on your head =)

Actually I quite like the idea, but with the current need for level bombers to hit pin-point targets (hey there really isn't anything else to hit) they're too accurate to make this comfortable.

They'd be perfect in tank-vs-tank battles, but any bomber can take them our even from 30k up.

Also, even now the tanks defending a field against an attack usually have an advantage.  That is, if they are alert.

And, btw, have you noticed that fields have buildings and structures. (would hiding behind a fuel tank be harmful...?)
