Im curious after reading this, who was it that put all of it together, if you recall?

The guy that was the initial brains was ... Grimm ... from the Catus Airforce squad ... it was called Rooks Joint Operations, commonly know as the "RJO".

Looks like it will take one of those mega squads or a combined effort from a few squads, lancs doing the strat runs, Jugs etc porking and strafing the convoys, Anyone still think that level of cooperation exists in todays MA?

Thankfully not.  The Sunday RJO's was the single factor behind ENY.  I used to be Bish at the time and it used to be overwhelming. Some folk that were Bish or nit in the week would swap to rook just for the event.  It got to be quite fun defending.  I and some others would go on long pork runs just before the event kicked off.  This left rooks little option but to whack the Knights or spend a good few sorties resupplying.  Mostly they hit the knights.  I have seen 262 for as little at 78 perkies when it it was 3 to 1.

Once the ENY was introduced RJO's dwindled out.

Ok so how does bombing starts affect your score? Is it for every "object" destroyed that bumps your bomber score up? I ask this because I see guys with great bomber scores but I never see them in a bomber ever. Would it make that much of a difference as opposed to the typical bombing of hangers, CV's, GV's etc? I see guys out in the middle of nowhere bombing strats and I just assumed it was to bolster scores but it does sound like there is purpose in it.

I used to have fairly high bomber score back when I had time to play, mainly from level-bombing CV's and base captures.

That's because for getting a real high bomber score (top 10 or so) you have to do as much damage as possible per sortie while avoiding of being shot down at all costs.
So to get an "impressive" score, you usually have to minimize the risks by either climbing to insane altitudes or by attacking those enemy strats that are located your their own territory due to a recent capture of an enemy zone base. Unlike in other score categories, there is absolutely no point in actually engaging the enemy - you have nothing to gain from it but you can lose everything, at least score-wise (but of course, there's still that "fun" thing ;) )

And yes, you won't see them attacking fields, because it's not only too risky but attacking a base hurts your damage per sortie and hit%.

But you can still make it quite high on the rank list without restricing yourself to pure milkrunning... just getting to #1 will be almost impossible then.
