While I was motoring around...
« on: November 23, 2008, 09:31:17 AM »
There was no one in the arena when I entered late last night, so I thought I'd amuse myself by trying to knock out ack guns with the B-25H.  I've never flown the H model before this.  What a gas!  Potting ack emplacements from way out, laughing at the wounded gunners as I cruised over their smashed emplacements, flying through their hangers to rub it in...and then Vapor7 showed up and I was able to grab a real airplane for some good fights.

Give it a try while you wait for company.

B-25H is a great multitask plane. Great for de-acking, killing GVs, long range vulching, CV killing, and if it needs to be a great heavy fighter.  :aok

Where have you people been?  It seemed like since the B-25 came out only 5 people fly it, and of those 2 could actually use it! :O
Is it people are suddenly realizing we have it, or do I need to switch sides more than 6 times a day? :D

Ah, kidding aside it is a great plane. :aok

Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?
Apparently I'm in the 20th FG 'Loco Busters', or so the legend goes.

OM, Read your post and thought Hmmm, B25 does have twin engines, lets give it a whirl. Immediately upon upping, I spot a T34 devistating an undefended town. After 17 direct hits from this flying tank, I believe the T34 ran outa ammo and towered. I think Ill stick to the 110.

To kill a T-34 with a B25 it takes a good aim.  You should aim for right behind the turret, the flat part, not the actual turret.  Any other shots with be almost always in vain. :aok

A riskier shot would be at the side between the tracks (not on the tracks) approximately where the driver would sit.  The risky part is that to hit the tank at that angle, you have to be low and level, and an alert T-34 driver may get a shot at you with his main gun.

Yea I dont even try to shoot T34/76s with the gun anymore. The only place to aim is that small flat part in the back.

They are basically immune to F-8 Rockets as well.  Very hard to kill.
