looked crappy, too many action movies are just 2 hours of CGI, like that commercial for transformers, I'd rather not see basically a full length cartoon movie.

So now we're seeing more of a transition from Comic Book movies -> Remakes of classics -> Anything that has nostalgia to it.  Original 'blockbuster' works are so hard to come by.

Ah yes, Michael Bay...

And the director of GI Joe?  Stephen Sommers?  Yeah, what good work has he done?

There have been lots of comic book/cartoon movies made the last few years, and they have been very successful. Transformers (second movie coming this year), Spiderman trilogy, X-Men trilogy, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (and the earlier Batman movies were also reasonably successful), Superman Returns.

I think it is the right time for these movies now that technology exists that allows moviemakers to recreate cartoon heroes and action without just actors in silly outfits and lots of explosions. Technology now allows for 'live action cartoons' and I for one think it is absolutely the right thing to do. And it's about time the Joes got some love from Hollyweird!

You know, no one is forcing you to see it. You can watch reruns of Matlock instead if you'd like.

Gilbert Gottfried should be Cobra Commander.

This will probably end up being half-way decent.  It won't be as bad as Daredevil, but not as good as Dark Knight.
forecast for tonight is alcohol, low standards and poor decisions
