question about gv spawns

I love driving a tank onto an airfield and vulching planes, but I noticed that gvs,when spawned out of the hangar, sometimes are in Vh but sometimes near the barracks that is 50yards down the dirt path. Does this vary from map to map, size of field or just completely random to stop people from camping at airfields?
