Theoretically, it will take the load off of your processor if you have an onboard NIC. "In Theory" taking that load off helps out your performance.. In Reality, network traffic takes up a negligible
amount of your CPU's resources and you will never see any kind of difference.. Also, no matter how much you pay for a NIC, it'll never affect your ping rate.. Ignorant people buy into this sort of thing.. Honestly, I can't even think of an application where this would offer anymore performance in any aspect...?
