NICs such as this one are simply an attempt to make more money. They are no better than the typical networking port which comes with your motherboard.

Theoretically, it will take the load off of your processor if you have an onboard NIC.  "In Theory" taking that load off helps out your performance..  In Reality, network traffic takes up a negligible
amount of your CPU's resources and you will never see any kind of difference..  Also, no matter how much you pay for a NIC, it'll never affect your ping rate..  Ignorant people buy into this sort of thing..  Honestly, I can't even think of an application where this would offer anymore performance in any aspect...? :huh

This card is for LAN Party Gaming it wont do a thing for your internet connection. If you played AH2 with the offline option with 8 computers using this card in LAN config with a (switch) not a (router) you would not see any lag and the packets would be instantly updated (PER FRAME RATE) and your plane wont get shot from the trailing effect the on-line game has...
So unless your playing DOOM 3 against Johnathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel for $$$$$ you don't need this card.....

You get the same performance from a $30 Intel network card, when using a switch on a LAN.
