For a 256 style map how many pixels across does my 'water' have to be on my .bmp to make a river that doesn't break up when going diagonally?

That's a tough one. For it to work, it would need to be two pixels wide, but it has to the right pixels, or else one's in the water and one on land.
A better answer is to make it one pixel wide and fix it in the TE.
