Q's for Skuzzy
« on: April 15, 2009, 11:58:29 AM »
Skuzz,

I'm having a malware issue in my system and I know you or this forum are not here to help with it but I do have a windows question that has me stumped while Im trying to get rid of this damn thing.

I have an AMD 64bit system running winxp pro 64bit... I have SP2

In all malware guides I keep reading the service pack 3 is recommended to be installed to help fight this off but when I do automatic updates I never get the option to upgrade to SP3.

Is it not available for XP64-pro OS? Cant find this answer in the MS website either :(

You should stop fighting and reinstall the OS. AFAIK there is no SP3 for XP 64.

Go here for help before wiping...might save you some headaches:

Honest people that will help you clean your infected PC for free!!!  I did it, and although it took a week, I am glad I did as it was easier to wait and see than to wipe and reinstall, restore, etc.

FYI XP-64 is based on server 2003.

SP3 is only a XP-32 service pack.
