According to what I read, the got the "White 100" bird in late 43.  At that time its most likely an N or Q and they were removing the wing guns from the Ns and the pods from the Qs.

Its going on a Q, if HTC doesn't like that, I will redo it on a D. <shrug>

I think HTC allows it for -N birds.

Fencer, not trying to bash your skins or anything but Iv always disliked that 'dirt/mud' layer you put on some of your skins. This layer stands out to much IMO. May I suggest gaussian blurring it 3-5 if you are using photoshop and reduce the opacity by maybe half. This way it is still there to brake up the skin so its not all the same color but isn't standing out and drawing as much attention. Again not trying to put your work down just making some suggestions from one skinner to another. :salute

re: White 100 - Yeah the serial no. layer was off when I exported it for the screen shots, its on now.

Larry, constructive critisism is the only way to get way to get better.  Thanks for the input.  Everyone does skins differently and each skinner has a style and preferences.  Yours are very well done but like you with your opinion of mine, I see things I dislike on other's skins.  It is all in what each of us want it to look like and neither are wrong nor does it make yours, mine or anyone else's (except some neon 109s) any less well done.  If they all looked the same if would be pretty boring.

I have no layer of "dirt" per se on these skins.  There is a high light layer (pale yellow), a white and a black contrast layer(s) and a darkening along the panel lines and rivet lines for contrast and dirt buildup.  After looking at color and bw photos I am relatively happy with the over all effect now.  2 weeks from now I might change it.  Dunno.  :)

I dont think that the VVS had the Red Star ever on just one wing though, it would be both, or neither. If they overpainted a US star/circle on the left wing with a VVS Red Star...they would also have a Red Star on the right wing. Same for the undersides, both wings would have stars. Only the USA had markings where just one wing had them, the UK, European, Russian, and IJ did not do that.
