Brewster Buffallo and Midwar
« on: August 05, 2009, 10:59:13 AM »
Can anyone tell me why the Brewster Buffallo was available in the MidWar Arena yesterday but it isn't today?

Yes, it did. I wasn't aware map changes changed plane availability in MidWar. AvA, yes, but MidWar?

Its a known issue mate, when the map changes, for some reason, the brewster and the I16 get disabled - in MW anyway, from what I understand. Skuzzy will sort it out.

When you build a map (in the Terrain Editor), you include the default plane availability. That means that the default arena setup for plane availability is in the .res file. If someone forgets to check the boxes correctly when a new plane is released, they have to go back, open to edit the terrain, check them, and redistribute it.

So, cycling through a map that was setup right and one that got missed would cause the issue.
A Rook who first flew 09/26/03 at the age of 13, has been a GL in 10+ Scenarios, and was two-time Points and First Annual 68KO Cup winner of the AH Extreme Air Racing League.

Each terrain, in each arena, has its own plane availability list.  To enable new planes, as they are released, I have to wait until the terrain is online and then make the changes.

Mid is fixed now.

Rumor has it that the brew blows up nicely. When I hear reports of one in the vacinity... by the time I get there all I see is smoke.

I've got to try one out. They could be a candidate for some sort of special inclusion into SAPP.

I even have a motto worked out...... half the brain, fly half the plane ... all us old folks can fly'em.

I don't know about that but I flew it for the first time yesterday and first flight landed 3 kills, 2 of them being some of the better sticks in MidWar.
