My friend Dr. Carlo Kopp recently published an article on WWII guided bombs. It's an interesting piece.

You can find it here.

Interesting article Widewing - I didn't realize that there were so many operational deployments during the War.  I had always thought that the guided weapons were prototypes and 'secret weapons' that didn't see much action.

I guess you do learn something new every day ;)

Widewing, - as usual :aok :aok :aok :aok :aok
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

I have pictures of guided bombs and guided rockets mounted on the wings of B-25s.  Maybe I'll get around to scanning them.

Didn't the he-111 have a video camera on their rocket/bombs to help steer it to ship on out in the ocean?
Time's fun when you're having flies.

Yes & No -

There was the Hs293D, which had a "miniature" TV camera in the nose, but it did not went into serial production. But sure you read about it in that essay Widewing has kindly pointed to...

(BTW, most Hs 293 were delivered by Do 217, He 177 & Fw 200, comparatively few by He 111 H-6 and H-12)
