Power supply question
« on: August 20, 2009, 10:23:18 AM »
I'm wondering if the mini freezes that I get once in a while are caused by the power supply taking a hit whilst my video card is drawing up an area.I have a 700 watt power supply, but sometimes the makers fudge on their ratings. My system is fairly good AMD 6000 3.0,4 gigs Corsair ram,MSI 8800GT,Gigabyte M59 SLI MB,etc.I'm thinking of replacing the power supply, and if that doesn't work I'll go with a lil better video card.If that don't work,a new MB and faster processor is next. Thanks for any comments, and advice on how to get my puter up to snuff.

Doubt it's your PSU unless it's going bad...but then you would have other indications of that.

You getting those mini-freezes playing offline?
What about other heavy 3d graphics games?
Any anomalies with the video card outside of video games?
What results do you get with the DirectX 3d tests?

You did post a dxdiag didn't you?

Video card is fine.AH is the only game I play that is a bit graphic intense. All my DX settings look good. The Creative Audigy driver isn't WHQL,but I doubt that that matters.I dropped down to 512 res,and the mini freezes are pretty much gone. Thanks for the help.
